Before the creation and wide-spread use of the adjectives yeshivish, charedi, and modern there was the word "Litvish" which described many holy Jews of Eastern Europe. While many people today claim to be the carriers of the Litvish way, it is my view that all groups have departed from it. This blog explores the practices and values of Litvish Jews and compares them to present day practices and values.

Tisch
I was at a shalom zachar a while back and watched as 30 yeshivah boys,
all dressed the same, sang for two hours. It was a tisch without a rebbe.
I don't think the boys of Telz in Lita would do that. They'd talk Torah.
