Before the creation and wide-spread use of the adjectives yeshivish, charedi, and modern there was the word "Litvish" which described many holy Jews of Eastern Europe. While many people today claim to be the carriers of the Litvish way, it is my view that all groups have departed from it. This blog explores the practices and values of Litvish Jews and compares them to present day practices and values.

Since I am a Litvak -- both sets of grandparents -- I envision that this may be what my grandparents wedding looked like. Thank you for the picture.
